Fairbanks Environmental sets national standard for SMEs
The Mornington-based environmental monitoring and management services company, Fairbanks Environmental, has won the inaugural small business accolade at this year's Australian Business Excellence Awards.
The Awards, presented in Sydney on the 25 of May, are designed to recognize and reward excellence in business improvement and performance in all organizations from local councils to large listed entities and are in their seventeenth year.
Fairbanks Environmental was established in October 2003 and provides monitoring and management services to the Petrol Retail Industry and adjacent commercial and industrial sectors.
According to the General Manager of SAI Global"s Professional Services, Mr Martin Searle, in winning the small to medium enterprise award Fairbanks Environmental has set a new benchmark for business improvement within the SME sector.
"In only two years it has built a solid business that is committed to continuous improvement and investing in its people," said Mr Searle.
"The company can be very proud of its achievements and I believe it has set a new standard for all small and medium sized businesses across the country."
"To win the Award the company was assessed against seven categories, including strategy and leadership, corporate and social responsibility, customer focus and corporate results.
"Having successfully completed this rigorous peer evaluation process against internationally recognised business standards all Fairbanks staff should be delighted with the success."
Russell Dupuy Managing Director of Fairbanks Environmental established a business model of excellence and continuous improvement with cornerstone deployment and certification to ISO9001-2000 and Investor in People (IiP) and has applied the Business Excellence Framework as an umbrella to capture the entire enterprise.
Fairbanks has been independently evaluated against the USEPA Standards as an approved method of leak detection for Underground Petroleum Storage Systems (UPSS).
